Transportation Security Administration inspectors forced a wounded Marine who lost both of his legs in an IED blast and who was in a wheelchair to remove his prosthetic legs at one point, and at another point to stand painfully on his legs while his wheelchair was examined, according to a complaint a congressman has registered with the TSA.
Rep. Duncan Hunter said in his letter Monday that the Marine, who is still on active duty and showed TSA agents his military identification, was still forced to undergo that scrutiny.
“A TSA office asked the Marine to stand and walk to an alternate area, despite the fact that he physically could not stand or walk on his own. With numerous TSA officers sitting and unwilling to assist, an officer then made him remove his legs, then put them back on, only to advance to a secondary screening location where he was asked again to stand, with extraordinary difficult, while his wheelchair was examined for explosives,” Mr. Hunter said.
He also said TSA officers initially directed the Marine to the wrong line, then made him move lines but made no effort to help him. The incident occurred at Phoenix’s Sky Harbor airport last week, as a group of Marines was returning to San Diego.
Mr. Hunter included two photos of the inspection in his letter that appear to show a TSA agent patting down the Marine’s arm and examining the prosthetic leg.

this is pathetic.
i would take this to the attorney general and sue TSA!!!
Disgusting! The TSA (Obama/Holder’s butt boy’s) is completely out of control! The highschool drop outs that wear the blue disposable gloves & do the patting down, are the dummest people to walk the face of the earth. Why should some strange pervert be allowed to touch an American citizen? What ever happened to our freedoms? What ever happened to treating fellow citizens with dignity? Pocket knifes are allowed but a baby bottle with milk is not. Does that make any sense? This is all part of the dummbing down of America, by Barak Hussain Obama/Mike Bl$$mberg.
based on my experience with TSA, they haven’t the brains to do anything other than the simple rules they are taught to follow. this does not give an exception to this unfortunate marine.
My brother has colitis and wears a colostomy bag. We were travelling to California from New York and the lines were so long that by the time we got to the checkpoint his bag was full. They made him go into a private room and empty his bag into a trash bin and made fun of the smell and filth the whole time. When we rejoined he was practically in tears. The lunacy of these idiots is rediculous and must be stopped.
Maybe the sequester will cause them to lose their jobs what tragedy it would be
This Marine will get humiliated but mock explosives and mock weapons can get through these idiots “inspection”! To think that we are any more secure because of the job they do is ludicrous.
