Senator Felder Providing Free Flu Shots This Thursday

On Thursday, October 4th, Senator Simcha Felder, in conjunction with Mount Sinai Medical Center, will be offering free flu shots from 10:30 – 1:30 at his Boro Park office located at 4623 16th Avenue.

“Flu season runs from October through March and the flu shot is the best prevention we have. I urge everyone to bring their loved ones and come get a free flu vaccine,” said Senator Felder. “Last year’s flu season effected many people and was the worst on record. Please join me in getting your flu shot early this year.”

Influenza (flu) is a contagious respiratory illness that causes mild to severe illness. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommends the flu shot for everyone over the age of 6 months as the best form of flu prevention. Some people, such as senior citizens, young children and people with certain health conditions are at high risk of serious complications that can result in hospitalization or death.

On Thursday, registered nurses from Mt. Sinai will be available to administer the general vaccine to anyone over the age of 18, completely free of charge. Appointments are available by calling 718-253-2015.

“I wish everyone a healthy year this year,” expressed Senator Felder.

Actually, Senator Felder is not providing anything.
