APPREHENDED: Father Of Wanted Flatbush Burglar Tips Off Cops To His Location

A suspect who was wanted for a widely-publicized burglary was arrested early Wednesday morning.

Sources tell YWN that a man walked into the NYPD’s 63 Precinct and identified himself as the father of a man wanted for burglarizing a Jewish home last Friday while they were sleeping.

The father was “worried for his son’s life” and took the bold action of tipping off police on his whereabouts.

Police staked out multiple addresses where the man would possibly be staying, and sure enough the suspect was seen entering one of the locations on Ocean Avenue in Midwood. He was taken into custody by the NYPD’s 70 Precinct Anti-Crime officers.

Detectives are looking into the possibility of connecting the suspect to additional burglaries in the area.

As YWN previously reported, the suspect was captured on video rummaging through a Frum family’s Flatbush home, all while the family slept upstairs.

  1. I would call it a bit scary.
    Terrifying? Not really.
What’s more terrifying is that people leave thier doors open at night after they go to bed.
Glad they caught this lo life.

  2. I don’t know takes2-2tango. I find it more terrifying that people like you are out there leaving comments and can’t even spell first grade words like “thier” and “lo” (even in slang language or Yinglesh these are incorrect)

  3. Coffee – what does Kaepernick have to do with it? This guy is obviously white. In fact, he could even be Jewish, which could account for why he hasn’t been named. It would also explain why the father turned him in. B”H no one was hurt.

And yes, remember to lock your doors and windows before going to sleep. And remember to lock your car when you leave it too. Remember the tag from Gemara(?): “Not the mouse is the thief, but the hole is the thief.” No opportunity – no crime.

  4. Why are shomrim and police taking credit for finding him when it clearly states that the thief’s father led them to his hideout. Brave father…..
