A new study by Allstate Insurance ranked Baltimore drivers the worst in the nation.
Researchers looked at 200 cities and based the rankings on things including accident claims and how often drivers slam on their brakes.
Baltimore fell one slot from its ranking last year, this year coming in at #200.
The city has consistently ranked among Allstate’s bottom 10 cities for safe drivers over the last decade.
According to Allstate, Baltimore drivers average less than four years between accident claims. The national average is 10 years between claims.
Baltimore driver Alex Blum was skeptical. “If you go to Boston, Massachusetts they are much worse,” he told CBS’s Baltimore affiliate.
They’re on the list too. Boston replaced Baltimore at 199.
Brownsville, Texas, Kansas City and Boise topped the list for best drivers.

hmmm….I wonder if it has to with the fact that Balitmore has a certain population….one that even has an OBAMAMART
I live in Baltimore, can confirm this is definitely true.
They obviously weren’t n brooklyn ny and lakewood nj.
Hands down those 2 cities are way worse.
The way the insurance companies come up with an average is so twisted.
K yeshiva world has got to chill with these anti-baltimore articles, first it’s the crime rate then other stuff, now this.
Baltimore is a great place! it’s beautiful! It’s serene! It’s a place of torah! Houses are cheap here! The cost of daily living is better and cheaper here! There’s so many amazing qualities about baltimore! Can we get an article about how good baltimore is? Please? This is a formal request. I’m asking yeshiva world, can you guys find something nice to post about baltimore?
Moderators Response: You mean like these articles?:

For real, that was a good comeback lol
K I’ll just shut up for a while.. Consider me shutted-up
I’m guessing that whomever posted the picture to accompany the article obviously didn’t know that this is the Washington Beltway, and it’s about 40 miles away from Baltimore.
I’ve been to Baltimore and am in New York a lot but I live in Lakewood. I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that Lakewood has the worst drivers. They just don’t look at Lakewood as a big city so it doesn’t even get into the study. It’s not the drivers fault it’s the politicians fault. Anyone who lives in Lakewood knows what the traffic problems are and yet the politicians refuse to fix it. They all just pass the buck from the locals to the county to the state and round and round the buck goes
Ah ha, since YWN addresses your question on why so many Balti articles, I am curious to know why so many people from Baltimore are so sensitive over news stories of Baltimore-? as you are not the first. I respectfully disagree of your assessment illustrating Baltimore as serene and beautiful. Perhaps you are talking about the far out suburbs? Baltimore is an old, industrial city which I wouldn’t consider scenic or lovely, and I certainly avoid stopping on the highway when I drive through. Their demographics lean towards a certain race; crime and murder rate is amongst the highest in the US, comparable to Detroit (the Frum communities of Detroit are in the neighboring suburbs and counties). Lastly, saying that homes are cheap isn’t a good selling point for me, as I determine that there is a reason it is so cheap.
TGI – what “race” are you taking about? Maybe you should have the guts to come out and say “black” instead of hiding behind code words? From what I read on the talkbacks it’s considered perfectly OK in the East for frum Jews to be racist – kind of trying to be like the goyim without having to eat cheeseburgers. It’s the kind of stuff you say when you admire Rush or Sean or somebody else we know of, but can’t follow in their white supremacy footsteps because – surprise! – Jews aren’t “white.” That’s correct – we are not “white” in the sense that other European Americans are. As someone I knew used to say, “Jews are OK – they’re almost as good as white people.” (In fact, the term “racism” was invented in Europe in response to anti-Semitism. Look it up.) Behind closed doors we are not accepted as white, that’s only for when they’re looking for our votes and donations. Don’t be fooled.
BTW, the Orthodox community in Baltimore is in the far north-west part of town, spilling over into the county. the neighborhoods are quite middle-class and upper-middle class. Yes, they’re mixed, but everyone is middle-class, so no tainos on that score.
By the way, Brooklyn is the only place I’ve ever lived where you can get hit by a car while standing on the sidewalk. No joke. I have no real experience of Lakewood, but since many of most of the people there come from NYC I wouldn’t be surprised if they drive like it.
@TGI i like to make assessments of city’s by actually living there for a year or more. I personally can say I’ve lived in California for 2 years, New York (Brooklyn) for a little over a year and have spent many months in lakewood and not once did I think any of those places were as warm and accepting and yes! Even as serene as baltimore! Say what you want. As the previous comment by “Midwest 2” said, the Jewish community is located in the more upper class neighborhoods.
So before you bring this proof and that proof, come and live here for a little instead of living in your New York bubble which I assume your from.
