Many streets in Lakewood were flooded on Monday morning, as heavy rains swept through the Tri-State area.
The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for all of Ocean and the southeastern part of Monmouth counties.
“Heavy rain is expected to occur over a short period of time. Rapidly rising flood waters may quickly inundate roadways and areas of poor drainage,” the NWS warned in a watch declared earlier this morning. “Streams and creeks could leave their banks, flooding nearby properties.”
As of 11:00AM, Lakewood Chaveirim reports that they have already responded to 130 emergencies, with many people trapped in flooded vehicles, to basements totally under water.

Be safe everyone!
DO NOT ENTER MOVING WATER!
DO NOT DRIVE INTO MOVING WATER!!
If someone needs to be rescued, throw, tow, and row, but only go(swim) as a last resort.
Keep an eye out for downed power lines and electrified water!
May Hashem protect everyone and their property.
