More than a dozen neighbors in Lochearn woke up Friday morning to find their cars and some homes vandalized overnight with spray painted curse words, swastikas and hate speech.
Baltimore County police are investigating it as a possible hate crime and are looking for whoever targeted the neighborhood.
County police said the cars were parked in the 3700 block of Sylvan Drive and the 3600 block of Lochearn Drive and were spray-painted with black paint, some with obscenities and some with images of swastikas. One resident’s storm door was also spray-painted, as well as the brick face of another resident’s home, police said.
Based on residential surveillance images, police believe the vandal was in the area from around 11:30 p.m. Thursday through 12:30 a.m. Friday. The only images obtained by police thus far depict the vandal as a person wearing dark pants and a dark-colored, hooded sweatshirt and carrying a book bag, police said.
Right now, they only have grainy surveillance footage of one suspect.
This hateful graffiti was sprayed on at least 15 cars on three streets in neighborhood.
