  1. Email to alumni:

The Rosh HaYeshiva shlita was having some difficulty breathing this afternoon and was taken to the hospital. He has been diagnosed with a lung infection, and is being treated.

Please be mispallel for Alter Chanoch Henach ben Chaya Rivka Leah, b’soch sh’ar cholei Yisrael.

  2. Even though I have never learnt in a Chofetz Chaim yeshivah, I know many fine people that have. Besides that, he is the Rosh Yeshivah of Rabbi Shaifer of TBT (theshmuz.com), which many people benefit from, so in some ways, we have also benefitted from this great gadol. May he have a refuah shelaimah bekarov and continue to lead us all to greater heights.

  3. the rosh hayeshiva, may he have a refua shlema, represents a critical link to yesterday’s yeshiva structure and its former rosh haysivahs.he is a great marbitz torah and runs a hugh structure of yeshivas thruout the usa.he is a gevaldiga talmud chochem and a trmendous ohev yisroel.may his refua come swiftly.

  4. I don’t know if there has been any Rosh Yeshiva with more Talmidim Muvakim in the past 75 years. Talmidim working on his shiurim year after year, not just being in the Yeshiva.

  5. Update 2:10 PM EST: The Rosh HaYeshiva shlita is being treated with anti-biotics for his lung infection. His condition at this time remains critical. These next few days are of utmost importance. Please continue to be mispallel for Alter Chanoch Henach ben Chaya Rivka Leah, b’soch sh’ar cholei Yisrael.

  6. Is there any update on his condition? Does anyone follow up with these messages? A call for urgent tehillim goes out but no one sends a follow up email to advise to continue, if the choleh recovered or Chass V’shalom……….

  7. The Rosh HaYeshiva is still in the hospital. The Bnie HaYeshiva will be going to daven at the kever of the Rosh HaYeshiva’s father R’Dovid Zatza”l tomorrow, Taanis Esther, at 2:45pm.

The Yeshiva has also cancelled their annual Purim night Chagiga tomorrow night, to be replaced with a Seder Limud as a zchus for a refuah shlaima for the Rosh HaYeshiva Shlit”a.

  8. Update 3/19/08 4:34pm:

The Rosh HaYeshiva shlita remains in critical condition. His doctors have requested that he receive no visitors. The Bnei HaYeshiva are conducting Mishmarim around the clock on his behalf.

The Yeshiva will be traveling to Rav Dovid Leibowitz’s kever for tefilos on Taanis Esther, Thursday at 2:45 pm.

The Yeshiva will NOT be conducting a Purim Chagiga this year, in light of the situation.

Please increase your Torah learning, tefilos and tachanunim on behalf of Alter Chanoch Henach ben Chaya Rivka Leah, b’soch sh’ar cholei Yisrael.

  9. There has been some minimal improvement in the Rosh HaYeshiva shlita’s infection. However, his overall condition has not improved significantly. He is still in need of your tefillos and Torah learning. Be mispallel for Alter Chanoch Henach ben Chaya Rivka Leah, b’soch sh’ar cholei Yisrael.

  10. Update April 3:

Boruch H-shem, the Rosh HaYeshiva shlita has been experiencing a slightly higher blood pressure over the past few days. If this trend continues, it will be of great benefit to him. However, Rebbe’s overall condition remains weak and his physicians are unable to remove his respirator.

Thank you for your continued Torah learning and Tefillos. We see results.

The Talmidim here at the Yeshiva and the Mesivta continue their daily learning of Sefer Shmiras Halashon as a zchus for Rebbe shlita. The talmidim of the Bais Medrash continue shifts of Torah learning around the clock, through the night and through breaks, and the high school has set up an optional extra night seder this Sunday Night from 8 pm to 9 pm, followed by Maariv and Tehillim. The ladies of the Yeshiva Sisterhood met this past Monday Night at the Yeshiva to say Tehillim b’rabim as a zchus for a refuah shelaymah for Rebbe shlita. In addition, we have reached out to many of the local shuls and most of the area rabbonim have been leading Tehillim for Rebbe in their shuls. We appreciate all that you are doing in your own community.

Once again, if you need a copy of Sefer Shmiras Halashon to learn as a zchus for Rebbe shlita, please call the Yeshiva office at 718-268-4700.

Please continue to learn and be mispallel for Alter Chanoch Henach ben Chaya Rivka Leah, b’soch sh’ar cholei Yisrael.

  11. Update April 7:

The Rosh HaYeshiva shlita’s condition remains essentially unchanged. His physicians have decided to move him, from his current location at North Shore Hospital in Forest Hills (LaGuardia), to the main North Shore campus in Manhasset. Arrangements are currently underway to facilitate this move.

Please remember that Rebbe’s doctors have requested absolutely no visitors.

Please continue to learn and be mispallel for Alter Chanoch Henach ben Chaya Rivka Leah, b’soch sh’ar cholei Yisrael.

  12. Update April 9:

The Rosh HaYeshiva shlita was successfully moved to the Manhasset campus of North Shore Hospital. Although there have been some points over the past few weeks where the Rosh HaYeshiva has shown some better responses to treatments and medication, these better responses have not been sustained. His overall condition is still unchanged and he is still in serious Sakanah.

The Yeshiva has asked the Talmidei HaYeshiva to maintain sedarim in Rebbe’s zechus during Bain HaZemanim (which begins this evening), from 9:30 am to 11 am on weekdays, from 10 am to 11:30 am on Chol Hamoed, and for 1 hour before Mincha on Shabbos and Yom Tov.

We are also arranging for continuous, around-the-clock learning during Bain HaZemanim as an additional zechus for the Rosh HaYeshiva shlita. The particular times which have been difficult to fill are 6 am to 9 am Daylight Savings Time, and 5 pm to 10 pm Daylight Savings Time. If you can help with this effort by learning a seder during either of these time slots over the next three weeks (until after Pesach), please e-mail Moshe Aharon Mandel at [email protected] and let him know of your participation.

We appreciate everyone’s continued Torah learning and tefillos on behalf of the Rosh HaYeshiva shlita, Alter Chanoch Henach ben Chaya Rivka Leah, b’soch sh’ar cholei Yisrael.
