The Jefferson County, Colorado Sheriff’s Office posted a video on Twitter of a bear stuck inside a vehicle in Conifer near Pleasant Park/High Grade on Monday.
Deputies were able to open the driver’s side door with a cable and the bear ran away. But the animal left behind a big mess!
Officals warn bears will sniff out and try to eat anything, even food wrappers, gum, mints and half-finished soda bottles.
Bears are smart enough to open car doors but typically get stuck inside and destroy the vehicle while trying to figure a way out.

A timely reminder that bears are not “cute” or “cuddly” animals. They are wild and can be extremely dangerous. The ridiculous video posted a short while ago showing people crowd around a treed bear shining their flashlights at it highlights the lack of knowledge people have about bears and their behavior. It behooves people to treat them with high regard. They can out run you, out swim you, out climb you, and are much much stronger than you…….
What’s the insurance company going to say? Without the video they wouldn’t beleive the story.
