As campers at Camp Yadir were packing up their backpacks and getting ready for dismissal this past Thursday at 5:00 pm, news reached them that a “special guest” had come to see them off: New York State Assembly candidate Simcha Eichenstein.
Eichenstein entered the room smiling only to be greeted by a lively group of hundreds of campers and their counselors chanting, “Simcha! Simcha! Simcha!”
“I didn’t even know you boys knew who I was!” Eichenstein said, elated by the children’s warm exuberance. “But I certainly know who you campers are and I brought everyone here a gift today! Do you like Frisbees?”
Eichenstein then broke open a huge box of the flying discs and declared the day to be “Official Frisbee Day at Camp Yadir.” The children were very excited. As they made their way toward their buses, each boy received a Frisbee and a handshake from Simcha Eichenstein.
“You could see how our kids really connected very quickly with Simcha Eichenstein,” said Rabbi Shloime Roth, the Day Camp Director. “A lot of them really wanted to meet him. Simcha is very warm and children respond to that warmth.”
After the children had departed, the camp’s counselors and staff members also gave Simcha a very warm reception. “Thank you for the invitation to visit your camp,” Eichenstein said. “Your kids are great and you have an excellent staff here. There’s nothing better for all of us to experience during the Nine Days than achdus and Ahavas Yisroel.”

Yeshiva Yagdil Torah! keep it up!
I knew simcha from yeshiva before he was bar mitzvah. He was always into giving and helping others. Normally election season candidates make impossible promises and run around asking from others. This is typical simcha instead of asking these kids to ask their parents to vote for him. He found a way to give them something. Simcha don’t listen to the negative nay sayers. Continue doing what you do best.
