Although he’s claimed he has no interest in becoming mayor, Police Commissioner Ray Kelly is the choice of most New Yorkers, according to a new poll released today. In the Quinnipiac University survey, Kelly came first on a list of possible candidates — with 22 percent responding in his favor.
He finished ahead of Congressman Anthony Weiner and Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, and City Council Speaker Christine Quinn.
Kelly had high approval ratings among nearly all demographics, although black residents were evenly split.
Just a few weeks ago, a YWN reporter asked the police commissioner if he’s considering running for mayor. All the commissioner answered was: “I’m running for police commissioner”.

“out of town brown” was out oif town during the crownheights riots.
thats ok — he will be honored by numerous mosdot this upcoming “dinner” season. will get various shofar awards, plaques, etc.
but NO ONE will ask about crown heights.
