Trump supporters on Monday launched a boycott of Walmart after a report that the superstore has been selling an “Impeach 45” retail line of baby and adult apparel.
The retail giant is selling “Impeach 45” and “Impeach Trump” baby and adult apparel for opponents of the controversial 45th president of the United States. But Walmart’s “resistance” appeal has met – for lack of a better term – resistance of its own.
The outcry sparked a #BoycottWalmart trend on Twitter as users expressed their distaste for the chain promoting the impeachment of President Trump, echoing some Congressional Democrats.
The retailer also sells Trump slogan “Make America Great Again” and “Donald Trump Speaks For Me” apparel.
Ryan Fournier, chairman of the group Students for Trump, was one of the first to discover Walmart was selling the clothing item, according to the International Business Times. He asked the company in a tweet, “What kind of message are you trying to send?”
.@walmart why are you selling Impeach 45 baby clothes on your website?????

Regardless, the “Impeach 45” apparel was a risky move for Walmart due to how many Trump supporters the store attracts, says Eric Schiffer, chairman of Reputation Mangement Consultants.
The “Impeach 45” apparel was taken off the website as of Tuesday afternoon, but a different design with the slogan “Impeach the Donald” was still available.
Walmart has been targeted before by angry shoppers after controversial items have appeared on the platform.
In 2016, for example, Walmart stopped selling apparel that read “Bulletproof – Black Lives Matter,” when a police organization said the company was “profiting from racial division.” Last year, Walmart came under fire for selling a shirt that read “Rope. Tree. Journalist. SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED.”
In the past, Walmart has issued statements after these incidents saying: “This item was sold by a third-party seller on our marketplace and clearly violates our policy. … We removed it as soon as it was brought to our attention, and are conducting a thorough review of the seller’s assortment.”

I’ve been looking for that shirt. Now I know where I can get it.
Gladly,
I’m ok with president pence
If they are selling it next to a MAGA product, then it would be “free speech”.
If they are pushing products that appeals only to left-wingers it suggests great lack of wisdom, since Walmart customers tend to be “deplorable”. In fact, Walmart is banned from places such as New York City on the grounds of being other than politically correct.
Re comment by akupunture: Walmart has had trouble opening a store in New York City because of zoning rules and other legitimate reasons. Can you cite an authority for your assertion that political correctness has something to do with the absence of Walmart from the 5 boros?
akuperma, if you read the article, they do sell pro-Trump stuff too. Actually Walmart wasn’t selling these themselves, a couple of third-party sellers were. I read that one of the third-party sellers was selling both pro and anti t-shirts.
Before the election, I came up with the idea of a t-shirt that said “Impeach Trump” on one side and “Impeach Hillary” on the other. Alas, I didn’t follow through with it.
