Catskills Hatzolah has received two new ambulances, which have been added to their growing fleet of state-of-the-art emergency response vehicles. The two ambulances are replacing two older ones which have been retired.
Catskills Hatzolah has 15 ambulances in service this summer, all strategically placed around Sullivan and Ulster Counties to ensure the fastest response times possible.
What used to be just a summer-months response, has turned into a year-round operation, with specialized 4-wheel-drive ambulances which can operate in heavy snow. Catskills Hatzolah receives calls in the Catskills all year long, as the community continues to grow, and may people own winterized homes.
A few years ago, Catskills Hatzolah opened their first garage in Fallsburg, where ambulances equipment and training take place. The building also houses a dispatch center, where emergencies are dispatched for Hatzolah in NYC as well as Upstate NY.
Catskills Hatzolah responds to approximately 3,000 calls a year, and have an impeccable working relationship with all local authorities including police, local EMS and all local Fire Departments. In fact, Hatzolah is called by Sullivan and Ulster Counties when additional manpower / mutual aid is needed.
