Hundreds of Chasidim from a wide variety of followings, led by the Gaavad of the Kedassia Rav Ephraim Padwa and the distinguished Rebbes of Vizshnitz-London; Lelov (Boro Park) and Pinsk-Karlin, gathered on Sunday night in Eden Hall in Stamford Hill, to mark the 24th Yartzeit of the Lubavitcher Rebbe ZATZAL.
Opening the evening, Dayan Levi Yitzchak Raskin, Rov of the Lubavitch community, shared how the Rebbe empowered people to realize their own tremendous potential, transforming those seeking advice and guidance into leaders and teachers capable of providing advice and guidance for others.
The main address was delivered by Rabbi Mendel Gordon, Mashpia of Yeshiva Gedola Lubavitch of London. Drawing on the Parsha, Rabbi Gordon illustrated how we could live ourselves as well as bring up our family with complete and thorough Emuna, in a way that relates to every aspect of our lives.
The guest speaker, was the highly-sought-after Rabbi Chaim Yosef Biderman, son of the previous Lelover Rebbe ZYO and Rosh Yeshiva of “Ponim Me’iros” in Bnei Brak. Drawing on sources in Halacha, Agada and Medrash, Rabbi Biderman brilliantly portrayed the Rebbe’s appreciation of the inherent value of each and every Yid, and his inspiration to view our peers in a most positive way.
Following Ma’ariv, at midnight, the assembled were spellbound by the acclaimed Mechanech Rabbi Zalman Leib Markowitz from Monsey, until the early hours of the morning. His primary message was how crucial is the learning of Chasidus to sincere Yiddishkeit, as the true antidote to the permissiveness that pervades our society.
