Belgium: Arrests Made In Murder of Israeli Pianist In 2006


arrested31.jpgBelgian police have arrested two teenagers for the murder of famous Israeli pianist Benjamin Rawitz HYD – whose body was found two years ago in the cellar of his apartment house in the center of Brussels, Belga reports.

Quoting prosecutors, Belga said that the pair, aged 17, had been charged with murder in pursuit of theft, and had admitted being on the scene of the crime.

Rawitz, 60, who was murdered in August 2006, was of Israeli origin. He performed across the world, and was a holder of the Swiss Mozart Prize and the Spanish Albeniz Prize.
