Just two days ago, YWN reported that a recent string of assaults on members of the Fum community in Oak Park and Southfield, has prompted the police to step up their patrols.
This morning, the HomeTown Life newspaper is reporting, that police arrested three juveniles over the weekend in connection with previous attacks – when Frum people were attacked while walking to and from Shul on Shabbos (Feb 29 / March 1). No weapons were used, and no serious injuries were reported in those attacks.
Two of the teens, 14 and 15, were still in a juvenile detention facility, while another 15-year-old, was released to his parents, the paper reports. The charges range from attempted armed robbery, to assault and battery.
The arrests came as hundreds of children from Cleveland, Columbus, Philadelphia, Cincinnati and metro Detroit gathered for the Annual Midwest Siyum Mishnayos of Pirchei Agudas Yisroel.
The community thanks the police department for adding the extra patrols – due to the Siyum Mishnayos – and arresting the three juveniles before they can strike again.
