It’s that time of year again. Time to spring forward and set those clocks ahead one hour Saturday night. The time change happens at 2:00AM, taking daylight from the early morning and moving it to the evening.
Additionally, one of the key messages of fire safety education is that smoke alarms are designed to provide early warning of a fire, allowing sufficient time to reach safety. A working smoke alarm will increase your chances of surviving a fire by fifty percent!
Therefore, as part of the annual “Change Your Clocks, Change Your Batteries” campaign instituted by the FDNY, YWN reminds all our readers to please change the batteries in your smoke detectors.
It can save your life!
