Kasich Attacks GOP For Not Opposing Trump On Tariffs, DACA

Republican Ohio Governor John Kasich is pushing Republican leadership to stand up to President Donald Trump on tariffs and immigration.

In a segment of an interview with CBS’ “Face the Nation” released Saturday night, Kasich says he is “shocked” that Republican lawmakers feel “they have to ask permission from the president to do anything.”

Kasich urged Republicans in Congress “to do whatever they can do legislatively” to push back against Trump’s decisions to impose tariffs on several ally nations and end an Obama-era program to protect undocumented immigrants brought to the United States as children.

Kasich, who lost his GOP presidential bid in 2016, has been weighing in on national issues lately. That has fueled speculation he’s positioning himself to challenge Trump again in 2020. Kasich says he is weighing his options.

  1. If Kasich were in the White House we’d be a lot better off. He can at least remember at lunch what he tweeted at breakfast, and has the good sense not to alienate our allies.

Remember that Israel’s strongest defense against the BDS people has been the US. When the US loses credibility, Israel suffers, and that credibility is diminishing every day.

  2. “If Kasich were in the White House” Iran would be free to develop their nukes, US Embassy would remain in TA, Rubashkin would be rotting in jail, jihadists from all over the world would be purring into US in large numbers But all these are small issues. The most important thing is that Kasich “can at least remember at lunch what he tweeted at breakfast, and has the good sense not to alienate our allies(UK, Germany, France- all supporters of Iranian nukes).”
