Highly improbable, verging on laughable, and including it in the YWN suggests poor news judgment by the editors.
please don’t let the door hit you on the way out
Why leave? Just join Mexico that you once were part of! I love these Libs – it’s either my way or the highway.
well after all their fires let’s see how they find themselves!!!
As long there is a hhhuuuuge wall around the state then good riddance
They can’t – it’s illegal. I think a few Southern states tried it around 1860 or so. Anyway, California is an economic powerhouse. If, as yosse and Health seem to want, California would secede, it would put a very large dent in the US economy, and take a huge bite out of US tax revenues, since California is one of those states that pay more in taxes than they get in benefits. It would also have serious strategic consequences, since the largest part of the US Navy’s Pacific fleet is based in California. I have relatives in California, and I haven’t heard from any of them that secession is any issue for 99.99% of Californians. I sadly suspect that YWN is descending to using click-bait.
Oh, and has anyone made a possible connection between California’s flourishing economy and their so-called “liberal” policies? Maybe paying people a living wage and taxing the rich to provide education and social services for the rest of us might have an upside? Like a superior educational system that’s admired by the whole world? Silicon Valley creativity? Think about it a little before you troll. I lived there many years ago, and I remember it as a pretty nice place. My relatives there aren’t going anywhere any time soon either.
I for one would not want to go to war to keep them in. Let them go. Good riddance!
The last time a state(s) broke away from the Union, it resulted in civil war.
LET THEM GO!
There seem to be a lot of Easterners commenting on this one. Maybe they should join the rest of us in the USA?

Seems to me that there was news not that long ago about California (among others) suing the Federal government for daring to limit the Federal tax rebate on taxes paid to the states. The impression that I got (I don’t experience it first hand as I don’t live in the U.S.) is that the state taxes had been largely mitigated by the fact that the amount paid to the state was used to reduce the amount of Federal tax. So in that sense it was not “really” state tax that is being used by California.
Perhaps let them go. They can keep all the illegals. They can use their money to build the wall!
Sorry guys but ya all missed the boat
IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN.
Why?
Democrats won’t allow to lose their tremendous voting advantage. And more importantly, their fundraising is primarily from Hollywood big shots who donate huge because they live here
