Agudath Israel Workshop For New Yeshivos

Workshop hosted by the Yeshiva services Division of Agudath Israel of America for administrators of new yeshivos and new administrators of yeshivas already in operation at its Rabbi Moshe Sherer national headquarters in Manhattan.

Representatives from mosdos across New York State including Ahi Ezer Yeshiva, Ateres Chaya (Chabad), Bais Yaakov Shiras Miriam (Monsey), Bnos Leah Prospect Park (Monsey), Emunas Bais Yaakov, Mosdos Sanz Klausenberg (Monsey), Mosdos Satmar of Bloomingburg, Ohavei Torah of Riverdale, Yeshiva Beth Hillel of Krasna (Williamsburg), Yeshiva Ketana of Bensonhurst, Yeshiva Shaarei Pruzdor (Lawrence), Yeshiva Shaarei Zion Ohel Bracha (Queens), Yeshivat Bitahon (formerly Yeshiva of Belle Harbor), Yeshivat Lev Torah, and Yesodei Bina participated.

The new schools workshop, an annual event held by the Yeshiva Services division, helps administrators of new yeshivos navigate the myriad regulations involved in opening and maintaining a nonpublic school in New York State. It also provides information to both new yeshivos and yeshivos already in existence about government funding and services which yeshivos, their teachers and students may be eligible to receive. Such programs include the mandated services and CAP reimbursement programs, the federal Title I program, security programs on the city, state and federal levels, among many others.

Presenters at the workshop this week included: Rabbi Chaim Dovid Zwiebel, Agudath Israel’s Executive Vice President, Mrs. Deborah Zachai, Director of Education Affairs, Mrs. Leah Steinberg, Director, Project LEARN, Special Education Affairs, Mr. Avrohom Weinstock, Yeshiva Services Director for Strategic Advancement, and Mr. Ami Bazov, Education Affairs Coordinator.
