President Donald Trump ordered Jim Acosta to be expelled from the Oval Office on Tuesday after the CNN White House correspondent tried to ask him questions during a press pool.
Trump allowed the media to join him today as he welcomed Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev to the White House. As Trump finished his statement, Acosta moved to inquire about the immigration meeting where Trump used an expletive to refer to Haiti and African countries.
When asked if he wants immigrants to come from Norway, Trump responded “I want them to come in from everywhere. Everywhere.” As Acosta tried to follow up by asking Trump if he wants more immigrants from white or caucasian countries, Trump pointed at him and said “out.”
Acosta spoke about this with Wolf Blitzer afterwards and said it was clear the president was ordering him out of the room. Acosta said he tried to ask his questions again when Trump and Nazarbayev gave a joint statement later on, but Deputy Press Secretary Hogan Gidley “got right up in my face” and started shouting at him to block out any questions.
“It was that kind of a display,” Acosta recalled. “It reminded me of something you might see in less democratic countries when people at the White House or officials of a foreign government attempt to get in the way of the press in doing their jobs.”

Amazing how these putrid human beings hold themselves holier than thou
good for trump
the press are nobodys they have made themselves powerful
talk with respect to the president
or you wont be able to talk at all
enough of the press garbage they are not above anyone else
If someone asked me a question like that I would consider it a racist question and want that person to leave.
mlyb2010…agreed….this President obviously thinks that Aryan looking Norwegians with blue eyes are heilege immigrants and anyone from Africa or Hati are lacking in kedushah as human beings. I wouldn’t call him “putrid”…that is just who he is and won’t change for the remainder of his term.
To all the commentators here, you’re quite right, I hate the fake news media as much as you do, but in this case Acosta asked nothing out of the ordinary,
Chymee – I don’t understand what you’re saying. If someone asked you in a press conference “do you think it’s true what people are saying that you’re a sick evil moron and you’re really equal to stalin hitler and pol pot. do you agree or can you disprove that position?” That’s not a question. That’s an attack in the form of a question. Whether it being overt or covert it’s an attack. That’s what the press has done to Trump from day one. I’m happy the president stands up for himself; I’m sure he’s sick and tired of all of this negative press made out of nothing against him. And quite frankly, so am I.
seichelle….for a President who uses every opportunity to disparage and insult those who disagree with him, why would you expect the media to ask a normal question….the question presumes the truthfulness of a presidential statement that has been confirmed by both a Dem and Republican in the room and belatedly denied by two Senators who initially claimed they “didn’t remember. Acosta was doing what a good reporter should do…Trump likes these photo ops but doesn’t like being confronted on his lies and racist rants.
GH: Very often you bring up aspects of loshon hara. Here you have a one-person account by Sen. Durbin stating that President Trump used a profane regarding certain countries. He did not, even according to Durbin, state anything about individuals. It is the media spin that turned it into a racist comment. But who gave Durbin the right to broadcast a comment made in private?
iacisrmma: a comment made in PRIVATE???
Are you joking or just beng sarcasti. It was supposed to be a private meeting when Mark Short (the legislative liason , on behalf of Trump, called Durbin and Graham the night before inviting them to a :”private” meeting in the oval office the next morning to discuss their “bipartisan” DACA proposal. Early Thursday am, Steven Miller learned of the meeting and immeditely set out to sabatoge any chance of agreement by inviting at least six other Republican hard liners as well as several WH staff and DHS Secretary et. al. The President turned a “private” meeting into a 22 person oval office sandbag operaiton. Tough language is one thing’; racist rants and vulgarity are different.
It’s very simple. Regardless of who you are, you have to have respect for the president. This reporter constantly has struggles with this basic rule of human decency.
Whether he likes it or not, Donald J. Trump is our president and will be for at least 4, probably 8 years.
Some people need to learn, and understand the concept of “Time & Place”.
When the president is hosting a foreign diplomat, and allows for the media to come in and ask questions, common sense tells me that it is not a time to discuss things that are applicable to what the president may have said about a completely different country, in a different region and part of the world.
It may be in the best interest of this reporter and this agency to rethink their attitude.
