A swastika and hate messages were found today on a school bus in Kensington, near Boro park. The bus was parked on McDonald Avenue near Cortelyou Road. The 66th PCT,, and the Hate Crimes Unit are investigating the incident.
NYS Assemblyman Dov Hikind release the following statement in regards to this incident:
With a growing membership which now stands at 40 citywide elected officials, Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn), State Senator Eric Adams (D-Brooklyn) and the newly formed Black-Jewish Alliance denounced the most recent swastika attack which was discovered today in Brooklyn. “The racists and anti-Semites are working overtime to intimidate and harass this community; there has been a 25% spike in hate crimes against Blacks and Jews in New York City since September 2007, specifically with the noose and swastika being the most favored symbols of hate,” Hikind said.
“After nearly weekly attacks, we are calling for a ‘Swastika & Noose Task Force.’ And the perpetrator or perpetrators must be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Anyone with information regarding the swastika assaults is urged to come forward.
“This community has the highest concentration of Holocaust survivors in New York. This attack is vicious and vile. Can we comprehend what it means for them to see this message of hate scrawled in their neighborhoods? No one should have to relive the pain and trauma of what that Nazi insignia means.”
The Black-Jewish Alliance is calling for tougher penalties for anti-Semitic and anti-Black violence. The alliance is scheduling forums to advance understanding between the communities, to reach out to youth, and to create a new format for communication between Black and Jewish New Yorkers.

Anyone can hate anybody. People like to terrorize those that they don’t like.Defacing other people’s property is a crime,whether it is a “hate” crime or not. Any crime committed against another person is evil.Students in schools must be taught from the earliest age that people of different cultures are people ,too. However,they need good role models(parents and other adults).
