It was a packed Bais Medrash in 770 on Thursday morning, as everyone came to partake in the continued celebration of the release of Sholom Rubashkin.
Rubashkin received an Alyia by Kriyas Hatorah, followed by the Bracha of Hagomel. (See fascinating Halachic analysis by Rabbi Yair Hoffman regarding various Brachos made after being released from prison.)
Following his release from prison on Wednesday night, Rubashkin first headed to his home in Monsey where he was greeted by hundreds of people. He then boarded a bus with his family to Boro Park to visit his parents. Thousands upon thousands of people were waiting in the cold night to greet him with singing and dancing at around midnight.
Rubashkin then proceeded to 770 Eastern Parkway, where a large celebration with singing and dancing was taking place.
He finished the night by going to the Ohel of the Lubavitcher Rebbe in Queens.
There are plans for a major event in Lakewood, exact details will be published when it is confirmed.

The cry was heard all ‘round the world,
Sholom Mordechai’s free!!!
And in an instant, all was clear,
the Hand of Destiny,
He Who orchestrates it all,
the whole world’s symphony,
had coaxed from his dear violin,
the song’s vital last key,
Oh how those strings held on so tight,
as the Virtuoso pulled and tugged,
some wondered if they would snap,
on the bow’s very next rub,
but no they only grew more firm,
as that Fiddler played,
the violin it never faltered,
never even swayed,
and all the other violins,
just watched in fascination,
how can that little fiddle bear,
the trials the tribulations?
clearly this fiddle was made,
from something more than wood,
one need not more than have a look,
at all that it withstood,
utter devotion to the Fiddler,
and His every command,
unswerving commitment and boundless love,
to all members of the band,
but no it did not end there,
though that is where it began,
no, there was this secret tool,
for the fiddle was but one man,
there just had to be something else,
that kept that fiddle strong,
year after year after year,
throughout the endless song,
the secret was that behind that fiddle,
stood many a tear,
of Yidden who knew but one thing,
for my brother I care,
and when the cup was finally filled,
to the very top,
the Fiddler said “Now that’s enough,
this song, it just must stop!”
We know not when the other cup,
in Heaven will be through,
but this little wink we all did see,
it gives us hope anew,
that if we hold strong just as our friend,
R’ Shalom Mordechai did,
The Golus song’s crescendo will,
bring Moshiach ben Dovid!

this is like living in the times when the rebbe’s were freed by the czar, here is a man freed from the holds of Obama and his henchmen at DOJ Holder and Lynch.
We see from this story a tremendous Kvod Shomayim! HKBH revealed himself in such a public way! We daven 3 times a day in shimoneh esrei, Hashem is a Matir Asurim. Kllal Yisroel was bi’achdus in being mispallel for his release. It’s a known fact that once the Federal Government sets their sights on a person, he’s done. Finished. Here, HKBH is revealing/teaching us THAT HE ALONE IS IN CHARGE! HKBH alone is the Matir Assurim. Ain Od Milvado.
@nowecant it is very different. Obama didn’t throw him in jail from day 1 because of any unjust reasoning. The ruling was too harsh and should not have been even 8 years. but laws were broken, he is not an innocent man. BH he is freed! This was a case of a man who made mistakes, and was treated poorly during the adjudication process (the entire process until the last day) and bh was freed after serving his time.
We must show tremendous tremendous tremendous Hakaras hatov to President Trump and Hashem for this man being freed from the shackles of an unjust sentencing. The sentence was commuted not pardoned. I also think that we should allow Mr Rubashkin settle back into his life with his family without drawing any unnecessary chillul hashem.
