Boro Park: Attempted Abduction Of Child; NYPD Make Arrest

Police have made an arrest is an attempted abduction in Boro Park, YWN has learned.

An 8-year-old boy was walking home from school this past Monday, at around 4:30PM, when a man stopped his vehicle on 16 Avenue and 54 Street and asked the child to get into his vehicle.

The frightened child thankfully did not listen – and ran home.

Police investigated the matter, and sources confirm to YWN that the NYPD’s 66 Precinct Detective Squad has taken this individual into custody.

His identity and the charges have not been publicized yet.

While this incident ended in a swift arrest, please use this opportunity to speak to your children to always be aware of their surroundings, and never to talk to strangers or get into a vehicle with a stranger.

  1. I thought commie de blasio said crime is going down? or is likely that if you don’t respond to crime its like it never happened and therefore is “going down”?

  2. To that first comment. Crime is definitely down, but we are not of course 100% crime free. Nothing the mayor or the NYPD does can prevent a random act such as happened Monday. Only the parents and an alert community can prevent such attempted crimes.

  3. ArtScroll publishes a book called “Let’s Stay Safe” written on this topic for children. They offer it in English, Yiddish, and two versions in Hebrew. It is written in a manner that is light (so your kids won’t get scared), but still gets the message out. Recommended

  4. I’m sorry but I believe that it is not finished with a “quick arrest”. We want to know who the would be molester is so we can watch our children. We’ve covered on the perpetrators for enough decades by now!
