President Donald Trump has demanded and received an apology from a Washington Post reporter over a photo of Trump’s Florida rally on Friday.
Trump tweeted Saturday that “.@DaveWeigel @WashingtonPost put out a phony photo of an empty arena hours before I arrived @ the venue, w/ thousands of people outside, on their way in.” The post included photos of the Pensacola venue as Trump spoke.
“Packed house, many people unable to get in. Demand apology & retraction from FAKE NEWS WaPo!” Trump tweeted from his Florida estate, where he was spending the weekend.

Weigel apologized within minutes.
“Sure thing: I apologize,” Weigel tweeted. Weigel said he deleted the photo after another reporter “told me I’d gotten it wrong.”
Sure thing: I apologize. I deleted the photo after @dmartosko told me I'd gotten it wrong. Was confused by the image of you walking in the bottom right corner. https://t.co/fQY7GMNSaD

Trump said in a follow-up tweet that Weigel should be fired.
.@daveweigel of the Washington Post just admitted that his picture was a FAKE (fraud?) showing an almost empty arena last night for my speech in Pensacola when, in fact, he knew the arena was packed (as shown also on T.V.). FAKE NEWS, he should be fired.

At Friday’s rally, Trump pointed to a CNN correction and other corrections and clarifications by news organizations in the past week on stories that initially had been damaging to the president but didn’t live up to the scrutiny.

Clearly the left and fake news have become unhinged.
It’s amazing how no matter what he does, Trump has to claw tooth and nail to get so many to accept the fact that he’s actually, irrefutably in office as POTUS. He could discover the cure for cancer, and half the country would vilify him for that too. I’m not saying he’s without his flaws, but the obsession with tearing him down is beyond the pale of normalcy.
They couldn’t stop doctoring photos of the last president to gave him Halo’s or to give him larger than life angles, and now they can’t stop doctoring photographs the other way.
Fair and balanced.
