A New Jersey driver who was seriously hurt when a deer he struck crashed through his windshield has died from his injuries.
Police say the deer was crossing a road in Franklin Township, about 50 miles (80.46 kilometers) from New York City, when 63-year-old Mark Rodgers hit it around 5:30 p.m. Friday. The deer then went through the windshield and landed in the vehicle’s back seat.
The Franklin man had been hospitalized in critical condition before he died Tuesday afternoon.
No one else was in the vehicle at the time. No other injuries were reported in the accident.

BDE. I hope the young man who was driving his wife in labour to hospital last week and who was stopped for reckless speeding in an area there were deer on the road, reads this. As well as all the other oiber chachomim who thought it was such a terrible thing for them to have been stopped.
If speeding was bad then even police shouldn’t speed, and deers don’t move over for lights and sirens. Police are likely to hit a deer just as anyone else. Most deaths from speeding are not from losing control but when getting into an accident at higher speeds there is a greater risk if death, that’s why it’s illegal. And it doesn’t say anywhere that he was speeding.
Seichel (Loshon sagi nahor)…u don’t seem to understand the kal vachomer. Even if this guy wasn’t speeding and still was killed by a deer, imagine how more likely it would be if someone was speeding.
He would have died twice? Is that the kal vachomer?
Faster?
One of the pictures is showing a lot of blood. Are you able to remove that area from the picture? I thought it would be a good idea if we can see pictures without blood. Thank you
Avreimi,
You’re raising a false flag. No one took issue that he was stopped. The issue was that the cop felt it was so important to waste anothe 9.5 minutes at that time to give a ticket. He should have said be careful and get to the hospital.
Imagine how much more dangerous the situation would have been if the woman started giving birth in the car. There is no way an ambulance would be there quicker that letting them couple continue on the way.
