I really hope someone takes the video to the school and the driver is suspended.
So is anybody from Yeshiva Vishnitz watching? It was their bus!
Now don’t get me wrong; if a cop was there, he would have gotten a ticket; but “Shocking”? Absolutely not, and not unsafe. The bus slows down, the visibility is excellent, the driver sees that the intersection is clear, and goes through. I would venture to say that many (if not most) drivers would do the same.
Sadly, this type of bus driving is a regular occurrence in Monsey. Busses routinely speed and it is VERY dangerous. Perhaps some respectable Torah based organization (Chaverim?), or person, can set up a “hotline” where anyone who witnesses such dangerous driving like this can call and report it. The organization would then contact the school to try to correct such behavior. I’m NOT, at this time, advocating calling the police (although such driving is potentially life threatening), I am suggesting letting a local Jewish organization try to handle it “internally” first.
May Hashem protect all the children and all residents.
It cant be a visnitz bus because they have a great secular education according to neiderman .and every educated person knows how to spell the word S T O P.
maybe he wasnt supposed to stop. why is it so clear that he had to stop and didnt. maybe he couldnt, and he knew that another bus was right behind him to do the pick up?
Very Misleading headline.
THERE IS NOTHING SHOCKING! this is standard driving procedures here
What halachic reason is there for obeying a stop sign?
“maybe he wasn’t supposed to stop”, “many (if not most) drivers would do the same??? If these are honest comments then it says something very troubling about (some) in our Jewish community. Traffic laws are for SAFETY and that is why they must be obeyed. Do we not understand that??? Tragically, numerous children have died here in Monsey over the past few years, due in part, it appears, to the attitude that “I will do what I want to do, regardless of how it impacts anyone else”. As Monsey gets more crowded it is urgent that we act with safety as our top priority. What could be more important than that???
orange u glad: we are talking about why he ignored the STOP sign (Red sign, 8 sides, white letters) and the STOP line. We are not talking about stopping to pick up the students.
heshyEmes: What video are you watching? Bus #1 doesn’t slow down and doesn’t hesitate to blow the STOP sign.
re: Yankelle
Physics and biology isn’t equal to Torah.
Make bus driving great again. Bigly
heshyEmes would you say the same thing if your children were on the bus? I don’t think so.
I really hope YWN would take down this post as it is VERY misleading (and frankly unfair to the Vishnitz as a bus manager once told me what is the bus driver’s fault that everyone sees his name with big letters each and everyone of us has a moment that if they feel safe plus a situation they wouldn’t drive the way the bystander wants) this is one of those stop signs that we almost don’t know why it is there at all it is not unsafe not to stop there and to put it a website without knowing the picture is very misleading. and sorry its a shame that YWN ACTS LIKE PRESERVE RAMAPO!. Is this LAHUD YAY WE FOUND A WAY TO MAKE A PUBLIC OUTCRY OVER NOTHING……
YWN171 What is misleading about the video? Unless someone altered it, the bus clearly blows through the stop sign. And the fact that you call such behavior “making a public outcry over nothing” shows the type of arrogance which many “lo yehudim” despise us for. Sadly, until (most of us) agree that respecting basic, reasonable laws are important, how can we expect our relationship with other residents of Ramapo to improve?
