Former Mayor Michael Bloomberg Endorses Councilman Chaim Deutsch For Re-Election


Councilman Chaim Deutsch (D-BROOKLYN) has secured the support of former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg in his re-election bid for the New York City Council’s 48th District.

Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg said, “Chaim Deutsch has always been an incredibly hard worker with his public safety background and years of experience. Residents of the 48th council district are fortunate to have him as an advocate. I’m happy to endorse Chaim for re-election, and I wish him all the best in his second term.”

Deutsch thanked Mr. Bloomberg for his endorsement, saying: “Mayor Bloomberg was a champion for New Yorkers during his time in City Hall. Working under my predecessor, I saw firsthand how Mayor Bloomberg was truly devoted to making New York City a safe, affordable, and prosperous place to live. I’m honored to have his support as I look towards my second term in office.”

Deutsch has the endorsements of Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams; former Councilmembers Michael Nelson and Lew Fidler; Councilmember Mark Treyger; Assemblymembers Dov Hikind, Diane Savino, Bill Colton, Helene Weinstein, and Steven Cymbrowtiz; and former Assemblymember Phil Goldfeder.

Deutsch is also endorsed by the PBA, DEA, SBA, LBA, CEA; the Uniformed Firefighter’s Association, the Uniformed Sanitationmen’s Association, the Hotel Trades Council; NYC Central Labor Council; ATU Local 1181; Local 94 IUOE, and Local 14 IUOE.

  1. unimpressed with getting an endorsement from a teoiva loving, Trump hating liberal that made driving in NYC impossible and made things more expensive not “affordable” by doubling taxes.
