The following is via ABC 7:
A woman attempted to steal a baby inside a Hasidic Jewish group’s headquarters in Brooklyn Wednesday.
Officials said a 26-year-old mother let her 18-month-old out of her eyesight for just moments at the Lubavitch World Headquarters on Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights. That’s when a woman picked the baby out of the stroller and attempted to walk away.
The mother got a few feet away, possibly going to the bathroom, when she realized what was going on.
She started yelling for help and nearby witnesses stopped the woman from leaving with the baby.
Responding officers took the woman into custody. The child was not harmed.
The 27-year-old woman is being questioned at the 71st Precinct. She possibly has a mental illness.

The mother has a mental illness if she walked away from her baby, leaving him/her unattended!
waiting for ‘warrior’ to complain about article that has to do with lubavitch…
what on earth bahby, the article says that the mother was probably going to the bathroom, you think she would take the baby with her?!
How do u know the supposed snatcher wasnt bringing baby to police station.i hope the mother learned her lesson not to leave a baby unattended.
bahby- you are obviously not a parent if you think it can never happen that a parent would leave a child unattended for a moment. If her baby was sleeping in the stroller and the restroom in 770 had no room for the stroller you can understand how she would park the stroller near the entrance to the restroom while she runs in for a second. I’m not saying it’s right (she should find someone to watch the baby for her) but I wouldn’t consider that unstable.
