BREAKING: UPDATED 4:10PM EST: Queens: **Overturned FDNY Truck**


IMG_83061.jpg (UPDATES BELOW)3:45PM EST: FDNY Engine 311 has been involved in a major MVA in Queens, leaving one civilian in traumatic arrest, and six firefighters injured – at least seriously. The accident occurred at 225th Street and North Conduit Avenue. The fire-truck is reported to be lying on its side in the front yard of a private home. MNS reports that a US Mail truck as well as a civilian vehicle have been involved in this accident. The NYPD AI Squad has been requested to the scene, and an NYPD Level 1 response has been ordered.

Yeshivaworld can not confirm if the engine was responding to an emergency.

4:10PM EST: One civilian has been pronounced dead at the hospital.

If it was a response to an emergency I think they must rethink their response, with such a heavy truck there is no margin for error, and to see how the FDNY trucks precede on some of their emergency runs is borderline irresponsible but let’s wait for the facts to come to light and then we can decide.

  2. Eight people, including five firefighters, were injured this evening when a fire truck, an 18-wheel truck, and a minivan yellow cab collided in Queens.

    According to witnesses, the fire truck was responding to a call in Springfield Gardens when it hit the U.S. Postal Service tractor trailer. The cab then crashed into the tractor trailer.

    Fire officials say all of the victims were taken to local hospitals, where one is being treated for serious injuries.

    Police are investigating what caused the accident.

    While I agree with you people will never be happy. I f they drive too fast people yell that it is dangerous and if they drive safely they are too slow. You can’t have your cake and eat it to you 😉
