We should not fool ourselves about living in America…we are still in Galus!
I think this is a sad reminder of hte world we live in….
Interestingly enough, the swastika is backwards which is a buddhist symbol. These lowlifes are real sharp, huh? Additionally, yes we are in golus and so are our brothers in Eretz Yisroel. none of us should fool ourselves.
This is a very chilling event. This is how it starts. Then the act gets dismissed as the act of thoughtless youth. We are told not to take it too seriously. We are ALL in Golus until Moshiach comes. We are not safe from this anywhere.
btw, it’s also possible that someone did it for fun, just to stir up a commotion…
Obviously,
This is totally unacceptable and the perpretrators should be caught and punished.
However, it is interesting to me that they targeted Satmar, a group that strongly and vociferously have equated Zionsim with Nazism. There are some members of that group that have, at times, graphically demonstrated that belief, using the swatika adjacent to a Magen David.
In my mind, there was no justification for that whatsoever, whatever the beliefs or religious observancy level of those you oppose.
Seems to me like a little midda K’neged midda applies here. Maybe they’ll be less willing to do that in the future.
Chevlei Moshiach.
DavidH: you are mixing up Satmar with the extremist group “Neuturai Karta” !! Satmar’s will never do that, “Neuturai Karta” will do anything for attention even travel to Iran to hug Hitlernijad.
DavidH –
‘They’ didn’t target any body in particular, just Jews. It was probably a couple of kids with a can of spray paint. They wouldn’t know Satmar from Belz.
