The house of Rabbi Ovadiya Isakov was attacked early Thursday morning, Interfax reports. “The attackers tossed a stone at the window of the bedroom, and the window glass broke. The entire family of the rabbi, including a nine-month-old baby, were in the bedroom at the moment of the attack,” a source said. No one was hurt. The family called the police.

Window glass of all the three stories of the Makhachkala synagogue were also broken on December 24.

“The two incidents had similar forms and timing. Therefore, we ask the Dagestani authorities to tighten the protection of facilities of the Jewish community and prevent similar attacks in the future,” a source said to Interfax.
