Almost simultaneously as YWN reported about a fire in the Barditchev Shul in Lakewood, a fire broke out in the Belzer Bais Medrash building in Stamford Hill, London.
The fire reportedly started in the basement, possibly in the Mikvah located at 98 Clapton Common. The fire is not in the new Belzer building.
Images from the scene in London show dozens of Talis and Tefillin bags piled on a vehicle parked in the street. The Sifrei Torah were also safely removed from the building and were placed into a nearby parked vehicle.
There were no injuries reported.
