A $516 billion congressional appropriations bill contains $521,700 and $148,000 for Village of Kiryas Joel security and health-care services.
The first grant, with the help from Rep. John Hall, D-Dover Plains, and Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., would go toward security equipment and emergency services technology for the Village of Kiryas Joel.
The other, secured by Schumer and Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., would pay for equipment for a women’s health center.
