We regret to inform you of the Petira of Rav Yosef Schecter ZATZAL in Baltimore, MD a few moments ago. Rav Schecter was a member of the Hanholah in Yeshivas Ner Yisroel for more than 50 years.
Yeshivaworld had posted just a few days ago (HERE), that Rav Schecter was honored at the annual Siyum Hatorah in Baltimore – which took place two days ago.
The Levaya is scheduled for 9:30AM tomorrow morning at Yeshivas Ner Yisroel in Baltimore MD.

Rabbi Shecter was a talmid of Rav Ruderman ZT’L from the 1940s. He was previously a Rav in Norfolk, Virginia before coming back to Balimore where he was a Rav and member of the hanhala.
His Kavod Hatorah was ENORMOUS. He treated every talmid and Rebbi with such respect.
He would spend part of the day learning in the Yeshiva and attending the shiurim of Roshei Yeshiva who were young enough to be his children. He especially enjoyed Rav Shraga Neuberger’s Minchas Chinuch Shiurim.
He was also a Rov in New Orleans for a period

My uncle, Rav Yosef Schecter z”l, was a true tzaddik. There was one unmentioned item in all the comments. As I recall, he was the first to begin the well-known fundraising technique of writing a sefer Torah i/m/o someone and selling single letters. He raised huge amounts for his beloved Yeshivah.
