According to reports from London, there is a major fire at Grenfell Tower in west London that has engulfed dozens of apartments. There are reports of people R”L jumping out of the 24-story complex which is a ball of fire.

Grenfell Tower is in Latimer Road near Notting Hill. Some 300 firefighters are involved in battling the blaze with 40 engines. There are reports of injuries. According to EMS officials, the fire broke out at about 1:29AM, adding there are 120 apartments in the building.

9:48AM IL: London Fire Commissioner Dany Cotton confirms there are fatalities. She could not confirm a number due to the complexity of the building. Local news agencies report at least 30 people have been taken to hospitals and there are a “significant number of people” who are unaccounted for. Debris has fallen from the building, which is entirely engulfed in the blaze.

The Telegraph reports up to 600 people are believed to have been inside the 120 apartments. Police have announced the following information number for concerned relatives; 0800 0961 233.
