Gianforte Wins Montana Special Election Day After He Was Charged With Assaulting Reporter

Republican Greg Gianforte has won Montana’s special House election, holding a longtime GOP seat a day after he was charged with assaulting a reporter covering his campaign.

Gianforte had 51 percent of the vote to 44 percent for Democrat Rob Quist when the Associated Press called the race. Libertarian Mark Wicks had 6 percent.
