Milwaukee County, Wisconsin Sheriff and outspoken conservative David Clarke has officially accepted a position at the Department of Homeland Security.

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Clare will work in the department’s ‘Office of Partnership and Engagement as a liaison with state, local and tribal law enforcement and governments.’

Although registered and elected as a Democrat in a heavily Democratic county, many of Clarke’s political views align with those of conservative Republicans. Clarke frequently appears as a guest on Fox News and was a speaker at the 2016 Republican National Convention.
