Williamsburg Shomrim Catch Man In Wheelchair Breaking Into Cars

nypd logo2.jpgUsually, when Shomrim apprehend a suspect for breaking into cars – they need to give chase. But early this morning, they had an easy time – and probably a first for Shomrim.

At approximately 4:30AM this morning, the Williamsburg Shomrim witnessed a wheelchair-bound-man breaking into cars on South 9th Street, near Driggs Avenue. After breaking into a third car, Shomrim units apprehended him, and held him until NYPD arrived to arrest him.

The Williamsburg Shomrim have beefed up their patrols in recent days since dozens of cars had their windows smashed over Shabbos for the second time in recent weeks – as reported HERE on YW.

A spokesman for Shomrim told Yeshivaworld that they do not believe that the man arrested today has any connection to the recent vandalism.

  1. There is a gypsy who collects on Fridays who wears a black velvet yarmulke and pretends to be Jewish who has a fake leg and sits in a wheelchair! I wonder if this is the same person!

  2. Flatbush Bubby – and hear him curse IF YOU DO NOT donate to his “worthy” cause. He harrasses the drivers at 18th and 47th, yelling “sedaka” and then wheels himself over to McDonald and Webster, to a treifa coffee shop. Jewish Indeed!!!

  3. Yes! He is not Jewish. He comes with a whole caravan of Bosnian gypsies and begs together with some women on Ave. J in Flatbush. They used to park their minivan in front of my apartment when I used to live off of Ave. J. And do you know what is written on their license plate holder? It says that “Yoshka Saves” but of course the english version of that famous saying.

One Erev Rosh Hashono one of the women went on Ave. J and said something like this; “Give some sedaka, please. Have a good shabbos.” Meanwhile, Erev Yom Tov was on Wednesday. And you should see the fat woman! Approximately 15 minutes before candle lighting, this woman takes out a FAT wad of dollar bills and starts counting it! And she had a long trip back home because the license plate is from Pennsylvania!!

  4. This story is about an arrest in Williamsburg and you immediately assume that because they are both people in wheelchairs they are the same person? Very sound deductive reasoning. Way to go.
