On the third day of Chanukah, somebody stole a 6-foot tall silver menorah from an orthodox Shul.
The following is the report from the Sun-Sentinal:
The menorah, estimated at about $1,000, was pulled out of the ground Thursday in front of Baila Gansburg’s home, which sits on the same property as the Chabad Lubavitch of Coconut Creek/Pompano Beach synagogue on Lyons Road.
“Hanukkah represents freedom and when that’s violated it’s a very upsetting thing,” said Gansburg, whose husband is the synagogue’s rabbi. “We’re definitely going to replace it.”
Police have not found any witnesses.

A 6 foot tall silver menorah for $1000? Where’d they get such a metziyah?
Strange. I always leave my expensive silver in my front yard & it never gets stolen.
I think they meant the color, not the metal. That’s the only explanation that makes sense.
I wouldn’t leave ANYTHING worth $1000- in my front yard even for a minute!
It is actually made of tin, but silver in
color -:)
they took it not because of its monotary value. its a hate crime not a theft
at that price can i get 10?
Its a hate crime. Is it all that unexpected though? [i.e. when we stuff our religion in their noses “lifnim mishuras hadin…]!?!
yeapb, really? most people do leave very expensive items in front of their houses for several hours.
