Police are investigating vandalism at a Jewish cemetery in Northeast Baltimore.
Someone knocked over 160 tombstones and cracked others at the B’nai Israel Cemetery on Southern Avenue. The damage was discovered by maintenance contractors, who contacted police.
The cemetery is surrounded by a chain-link fence and is operated by B’nai Israel synagogue.
Police know of no motive for the vandalism but do not consider it a hate crime.
