Italy’s highest appeals court Friday annulled a previous ruling [reported HERE on YW] which allowed a 93-year-old former SS officer serving a life sentence under house arrest to work. The ruling by the Court essentially endorsed that of an Italian judge in June, who revoked judicial permission for former SS officer Erich Priebke to go to work.
Priebke was sentenced to life in prison in 1998 for participating in a World War II massacre in which 335 civilians, including 75 Jews HY”D, were killed.
Permission for him to work first granted by a military judge sparked outrage by Jewish groups.
