In the ongoing investigation in Motzei Shabbos’ assault on a Lakewood teen, the Lakewood Police Department has released the following information:
Lakewood Police Officer Chris DiBiase took the report for the assault of the 14 year old male. His report states that the assault took place on Spruce Street between River Ave and Sharon Court, at approximately 6:30PM.
The victim told police that he was walking on Spruce Street when he was approached from behind and assaulted. The victim was knocked to the ground and kicked. While on the ground he lost his eyeglasses.
He described the attackers as six or seven black males – and no further description was given to police.
The victim went on to state that while he was being assaulted the attackers were saying “Jew”.
The investigating officer observed bruising, as well as bleeding from the victims face, and he was transported to Kimball Medical Center by Lakewood Hatzolah, where he was treated and released.
Detective Thomas D’Elia is conducting the follow-up investigation, and his investigation he found that four of the six or seven attackers were white, contrary to the original description of the attackers being all black.
The investigation is still ongoing, and police are asking anyone with information to call Det. Thomas D’Elia @ 732-363-0200, Ext. 5342.

What is their information based on that they were white contrary to the victims description? Were there other witnesses?

Does it matter if they were blacks or whites? Evil people are EVIL,no matter who they are. It’s what they do that makes them bad or good. I’m sure that one does not have to be black in order to hurt a Jew. Whites are ,unfortunately experts at that,too.
You guys are missing the point. The question here is if there is a deteriation taking place in the relationship between the blacks & the jews,(as the last few racial incidents in Lakewood involved people from these groups) both of which make up a sizable portion of the community & then how can we try & bridge that gap. Or are they unrelated incidents & have to be dealt with some other way.

he lost his eyeglasses, was kicked in the face and he’s supposed to see and remember the color of the faces of his assaulters in the dark. in addition the white men could have stood behind.
Maybe these recent cases should say something to those who immediately blame all problems on landlords renting out to blacks and hispanics, as was done here by a “prominent askon”and many commenters. At this point they do not seem to be to blame for any. This assault was done mostly by whites. The previous one was done by a homeowner’s son. The Trim Gym abducter was a working class white. All of these were blamed on the landlords.
This is the second time I’m reading this story and I still cant figure out for certain if the victim is a Jew??????
