UPDATE: Thursday’s Pedestrian Struck In Boro Park


nypd.jpgA spokesman for Boro park Shomrim has just informed Yeshivaworld that the NYPD 66th PCT has made an arrest, and a vehicle recovered in regards to yesterdays hit-and-run in Boro Park [reported HERE on YW]. Shomrim had received specific information regarding the vehicle, and due to that information the suspect was arrested and the vehicle was recovered. Dina bas Tzipoah remains in Lutheran Trauma Center with a skull fracture, after being struck by a vehicle on New Utrecht Avenue and 52nd Street. Please be Mispallel for her.

  1. I know the young man who was driving the car. When he hit her, he panicked. He turned himself in after he had calmed down. (As far as I understand his turning himself in had nothing to do with Shomrim). He knows that he made a terrible mistake. Please, I ask that you don’t daven for him to suffer. Last year, his father in Russia was killed by a hit and run and two years ago his grandmother was run over by a frum person in Flatbush who also left as soon as Hatzoloh took her, leaving them no way to pay the hospital bills. He’s 21 years old and is supporting his mother and little sister (who goes a kiruv school). He’s not a bad kid. He just made a terrible mistake in judgment. Please have rochmonus on him.
