Yeshiva Toras Chaim/Toras Emes Academy of Miami Bids Farewell to founding Rosh Hayeshiva; Appoints new Hanhala Member

RabbiPalgon.jpgYeshiva Toras Chaim/Toras Emes Academy of Miami is pleased to announce the appointment of Rabbi Mordechai Palgon, Principal of Yeshiva Toras Chaim High School, to the position of Rosh HaYeshiva. Joining Rabbi Binyomin Luban and Rabbi Yisroel Y. Niman as the third member of school’s Hanhala , Rabbi Palgon’s appointment fills the void which was created with the departure of the Yeshiva’s Founding Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Bentzion Chait.

ra.jpgSince the inception of Yeshiva Toras Chaim in 1984, Rabbi Chait has played a crucial role in the growth and development of the Yeshiva, which today Boruch Hashem comprises nearly 600 students from nursery through Bais Medrash.  In August, at the personal request of HaGaon HaRav Alter Chanoch Henoch Leibowitz Shlita, Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshiva Chofetz Chaim in New York (of which Toras Chaim/Toras Emes is an affiliate), Rabbi Chait assumed the role of National Director of Community Development.  In this newly-created position, he will be facilitating the founding of new yeshivos, as well as shuls and kiruv programs around the country.  It is with mixed emotions that he has accepted this challenge, and although Rabbi Chait will be based in Miami for the current academic year and remain involved in the Yeshiva’s activities in a general way, his presence in the day-to-day operations will be sorely missed.

Rabbi Palgon, whose new position is in addition to his role as Principal, has been associated with the Yeshiva since Elul 1994 and is widely known for his special warmth and dedication to his talmidim. His clear vision and remarkable insight will be most welcome as the Yeshiva continues to grow and flourish at every level – from nursery child to Bais Medrash bochur.

The entire Yeshiva family wishes both Rabbi Chait and Rabbi Palgon much bracha v’hatzlacha in their future endeavors on behalf of our talmidim and K’lal Yisroel.
