Levi ben Basya: Missing For Five Days Without Any Clues

levi.jpgPlease be Mispallel for Levi ben Basya who is missing for 5 days now. His Yarmulka was found as well as some other artifacts of his – but he’s still missing without any clues. Yeshivaworld was requested by the family to ask people to Daven for him. The following are excerpts from the Chicago Sun Times:

The family of a missing high school senior from Buffalo Grove remained hopeful for his safe return as search parties combed the Wisconsin countryside Tuesday near where his car was found.

Lee Cutler, 18, a student at Stevenson High School, has been missing since Saturday morning. He slept at a friend’s house Friday night after attending a party and disappeared the next morning.

What happened to Cutler after that is a mystery, police said.

His car was found Sunday morning at a highway rest area near Baraboo, Wis., about 40 miles northwest of Madison.

A search begun that afternoon found blankets, a backpack, and a red Kipah belonging to Cutler near the banks of the Baraboo River, not far from the car, police said.

Scores of detectives and firefighters continued to scour the area.

  1. THE ORGANIZATIONS LIKE HATZOLAH , ETC SHOULD MAYBE GO OUT WITH SOME MEMBERS THAT ARE AVAIALBLE TO HELP IN THE SEARCH AS IT WOULD BE A TREMENDOUS KIDDUSH HASHEM.
YOU NEVER KNOW HOW SUCH A SITUATION CAN TURN AROUND A NESHOMA TO A MORE YIDDISHKITE WAY.

  2. I’m not sure if any of you people who would offer to volunteer have a facebook account or not (mitzad internet kashrus), but the family has made a lee cutler facebook group with info about how to help. Meanwhile tehillim definately helps.

  3. Bond,

    Your comment really hurts.

Levi is your brother, one of Hashem’s children. He is in a Sakana situation- does your heart not cry out for his health and safety?

Is your heart not in your throat in fear of what he might be going through? You don’t have a desire (even if not practically possible) to run out there and help find him? Only if he’s a Kiruv candidate?

As one strongly involved in Kiruv, I can only say to your comment: Hashem Yirachem!

  4. I think people in the frum community have the perception that rescue efforts are for “small town christian” volunteers, yet when they want to help they blame there desire to be of help on Kiruv. I hope this was the case with Bond. Otherwise his comment was patently absurd.

  5. Folks, I am sure BOND did not mean what it looked like. I am sure he meant, certainly, that finding the kid is primary. He probably was “adding motivation” to the issue, to try to awaken others to help.
    He is not wrong.
    1) Increase the number of searchers increases the odds of finding him
    2) It will be a kiddush Hashem to have frum volunteers assisting in the search.
    3) If we succeed, It may help the boy see that the frum community cares about him

In the meanwhile, those who can’t go to help, can daven and say Tehillim.
May Hashem help he should be located quickly, in a safe and healthy condition.

  6. The guy disappeared somwhere near Madison, Wisconsin. I’m sure the Hatzola branch out there is being mobilized as we speak.
