After much deliberation, and many, many requests, Yeshivaworld has decided to launch a text messaging group for those who wish to stay on-top of breaking stories – via their cell phones. We will not be paging entire stories, but just breaking headlines. Before signing up, please make sure that your cell phone plan allows you to receive text messages – without a charge, or you have a substantial amount of free text messages per month – and then sign up.
YW estimates on sending 5 alerts or less each day.
Signing up is real easy.
Simply send an email with your cell phone number to [email protected]. You will then receive a text message to your cellphone with instructions to confirm your subscription.
All it takes is three minutes to sign up – and you can unsubscribe at anytime.
NOTE: This has nothing to do with the current email alert system which is currently in place.
Enjoy!

great! what about a phone number like charedisher neis, except in English?
Editors Response: We actually had that last year. We needed to shut it due to technical issues, but stay tuned….relaunch is on the way!
good idea!
This is great. I hope it includes any Torah “vorts” that we get usually Thursday and/or Friday!
This will be very popular.
Fabulous… No more excuses why one needs a computer (with all its pitfalls). Now we can get our daily dose of Yeshiva World on just a mobile phone.
Should have gotten this a long time ago. I’m really looking forward.
Theres another site that offers a similar service, but I will not mention its name because of the loshon hora it spews CONSTANTLY.

Just make sure you have an unlimited (or close) txt plan. 5X/day comes out to about 125 messages a month.
Is this via email or an SMS gateway ? (Basically will you send to Israel mobile ?)
HOPE TO GET ONLY GOOD NEWS
Can these messages be texted to Europe as well?

i thought that thier is a kosher phone with out any text so why does YW have to do thise?
SYMCL,
This is definitely NOT kosher! But then again neither is the Internet…
for today’s world Internet has become a must for every day business, that’s why they came with all the filtered services , text messaging is not a must and by YW providing it makes young people want to get it
Just wondering if this service is sent from an email address or a phone number? I blocked all messages from emails because otherwise I receive tons of spam. If anyone received any messages yet, I’d appreciate if you can post a reply.
