Brooklyn Residents Rally To Keep Victory Memorial Hospital Open

er.jpgResidents in Brooklyn rallied Wednesday in attempt to save a neighborhood hospital in danger of closing. Victory Memorial Hospital is one of five city hospitals scheduled to be shut down next year, as part of state efforts to consolidate services. The hospital – which has served Bay Ridge and surrounding neighborhoods for more than a century – has filed for bankruptcy and says it plans to go along with a state commission’s recommendation to close its doors.

Victory Memorial Hospital plans to close its doors in June of 2008.
