A man convicted of arson in connection with a synagogue was sentenced to six and a half years in prison. Manuel Tiscareno-Renteria, 27, was convicted of causing more than $128,000 worth of damage to Congregation Beth Am Synagogue, which is located in the 5050 block of Del Mar Heights Road. Tiscareno doused the synagogue’s sanctuary doors with gasoline and lit it aflame on Oct. 11, 2003.
