Israel’s Chief Sephardic Rabbi Shlomo Amar, will be arriving in Chicago for his first visit ever. He is scheduled to speak at a dedication ceremony for Rabbi Gedalia Dov Schwartz. Chicago Rabbinical Council President, Rabbi Daniel Moscowitz says Rabbi Schwartz is being honored for his twenty years of service with the group. “A chief rabbi of Israel coming all the way from Israel to Chicago for a few hours is literally a tribute to the greatness of Rabbi Schwartz, of the high esteem that he’s held by rabbis around the world.”
Moscowitz says the Council is naming its court chambers after Schwartz, who is their Chief Rabbinical authority.

This is really an amazing story. Thank you so much for sharing this information with us.
Beautiful Kavod Hatorah, the Chicago kehilla will know how to welcome bekavod a talmid chochem.
I was there and it was a beautiful ma’amad of kvod hatorah. Not just for Rabbi Amar, but for R’Gedaliah Schwartz as well. Rav Avrohom Chaim Levin, Rosh Yeshiva in Telshe Chicago, also spoke.
If YW Editor wants pix, please email me, and I’ll be happy to send some over.
Is there more than 1 Rabbi Daniel Moscowitz in Chicago?
Yochi, not that I’m aware. He is also the Regional Director of Chabad of Illinois. However, his words yesterday included no propaganda for his ‘home organization’.
zionflag: Freudian slip there. I’m sure you meant band together!
Midwesterner……..”However, his words yesterday included no propaganda for his ‘home organization’”
Did you listen? His whole bracha to R’ Schwartz was from the Rebbe (z”L or Shlita)!!!!
He mentioned a specific visit and a specific Brocha received and he repeated it it. That’s not propaganda. He spoke for a good 10 minutes, talking about Rabbi Schwartz and Chicago, and only mentioned that Ma’ase as a Brocha and closer.
I’m not gonna burden this site on this specific forum with the difference between their full blown propaganda, and just a simple quote from their Rebbe. Don’t we all quote our rabbeim? There’s no avla in that.
(He did quote the Rebbe, and did not say Z”L or Shlita. That itself is a great indicator of where they hold. Before 3 Tamuz, They would always say shlita. Now, they don’t say zt’l. And in Chicago Chabad Politics, Danny Moscowitz is THE consommate general chabad organization man. The leader of the Anti-Meshichist crowd. The divisions here are stronger than in most communities. (See cheder Lubavitch vs Bnos Rabbeinu fights including mesira and arkaos and much more. V’dayo l’chakiman b’remiza.) And even he can’t bring himself to say ZT”L.)
Just a note to everyone:
If you would pay a close attention to Chabad, they almost never say ZT’L in reference to any of the Rebbeim, doesn’t matter which one.
The last Rebbe himself almost never referred to the previous Rebbe ZT’L or Shlita.
For Chassidim it does not matter in which world he is now…
You can verify it by going to Chabad website and just listen to any Rebbes speeches.
In addition, why can’t you all stop looking for something negative?
I have seen many articles on this website about Chabad, first couple of comments are nice and then all this noirishkait…….
