  1. He was my son’s Rebbi. He is an unbelievable Rebbi. I think he was the founder of the Greater Adventure Learning program. The learning of the Boys should be a zechus for him.

  2. He is the founder of the Greater Adventure chol hamoed program, and a truly fine and special person. May he have a speedy refuah shleimah.

  3. What a tzadik this man is. I hope that he has a speedy Refuah Shelayima right away – and this animal gets dragged through BMG and we all take a swing at his neck.

    Enough is enough!

We need to storm the Lakewood Police Station and demand that they do something!

    Crime is skyrocketing!

Are you Chas V’Shalom advocating violence???

  5. I over heard the criminal inversigation unit telling the chief of police that they traced the smell of the attacker down squankum to prinston to park down east seventh

  6. I was j there at 9:00. It didnt look like the Lakewood PD was working to hard. They were all worried about getting their raincoats so the G-d forbit get wet

  7. It’s not the police’s fault. They can’t be patrolling every street at the same time. But, they should do the best they can to nab this suspect and he should have the book thrown at him for his heinous crime when he is caught.

  8. The rain will not help in the tracking. B”H I hear that he is now awake and responding and undergoing testing. He is a superstar mechanech. May the zechus of the impact that he has had on countless young lives me a zechus for a refuah shelaima

  9. The matziv here in Lakewood Is getting really scary lately. It is getting dangerous to walk down the street alone, at night. This is not the first incident lately, on the night of Rosh Hashana a yungerman was assaulted On the way back from davening in yeshiva. I think the two frightening factors causing this are 1. We are being overrun by criminals and illegal aliens. 2. The police here are terribly biased and anti semitic. Just last week they stopped a hatzala van On the way to an emergency

  10. I hear he’s B”H better. R’ Moskowitz is one of the most Ehrlich people in Lakewood. I strongly doubt that he has a single person with a T’aaneh against him. May he live Ad Meah V’Esrim.

  11. Lets just hope they don’t end up charging the victim for the crime -obviously he’s at fault just like the other Lakewood Cheder Rebbe- Maybe he was carrying a cell phone, and it looked like he was going to take a picture of the thug brandishing the baseball bat….
Take a trip down to Jenna if you want to know what can happen next.
Or perhaps skip Jenna, just read some of Lakewood’s recent news stories.
    Hashem Yishmor!

  12. I do not know where yeshivaworld “learned” that there are K9 units dispatched by the county….

THIS IS TOTALLY FALSE. THE COUNTY DID NOTHING AT THIS POINT. THIS IS FACT.

I got off the phone with someone who is extremely influencial in the Lakewood community and he also said the police are impossible and really are not doing anything and have not even set up patrols in the area.

There is also more to this story which is to shocking to write here and at a later time there will be more stories posted involving the police dept and the Lakewood community.

All we can say at this point is the Lakewood police department is totally corrupt and when certain information comes out about the police department in Lakewood –heads will roll and the news will definitely make national headlines.

    B.K

  13. Let’s reelect the same va’ad endorsed candidates as we have been electing in the past, as they have been doing such a great job for our community. Taxes are going through the roofs, traffic and congestion are insane, crime is rampant, illigels have declarerd Clifton Av. as a “English as a second laguage” zone, (Sinco De’mayo is a national holliday, instead of presidents’ day), so lets vote ’em all in again, and offer them a raise. (Le’maaseh its good for the oilam, ’cause if The developers can’t build houses, the $12.00 Kollel wives who work for them are not going to have parnossah, so we have to do what the developers, excuse me, the Vaad, -I get confused sometimes- says. Also it would’nt be good for the oilam if the town takes back the parking lot of Sommerset square, that was allocated, by themeselves, to themselves without paying taxes, cause then there will only be six parking spots instead of twelve for the shopping center).
I’ll volunteer (I’ll masquerade as some “choshuva” g’vir) to stand next to the “Honorable” chief of police Lawless I mean Lawson for the next center pullout feature in all your Lakewood weekly monthly dailies that stuff your mailboxes, as we as a chashuva kehila celbrate our grate victory, of stuffing the ballot boxes, to get “our” guy in office!!
Then we can all dance the ‘ol “Ma yafis” dance, pat each other on the back, and head back home, through some more gridlocks, just in time to get home safely before dark, lock all our doors and shutters, set our burglar alarms, and get to sleep. We need to get up early tomorrow, to chap a good parking spot near Yeshiva fo first seder. If we leave by 6 am, we could beat the traffic across the lake, and still get a spot on eighth street between Lex and Monmouth (only blocking two or three people).

    ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!!!!

BTW, they just discovered the use of the apendix, now we need to discover the use of a town council.

  14. ALL DAY YOU HEAR ONE WORSE STORY THEN THE NEXT!!!!!!! I CANT TAKE IT ANY MORE!!! WHY CANT YESHIVA WORLD WRITE MORE HAPPY THINGS ANY LESS SAD THINGS????????

Editors Note: Just wondering why you did not comment when we posted the story earlier this morning about the Lakewood family which was miraculously saved from harm in a major car accident on the Garden State Parkway…… Vehamayvin Yavin.

  15. AILE B’RECHEV V’AILE BA’SOOSIM……V’ANACHNU…LETS STORM THE BATEI MIDRASHIM AND BATEI K’NEISIOS AND BE MISPALLEL FOR RACHAMEI SHOMAYIM…. THATS WHAT WORKS FOR US

  16. TO ALL THOSE WHO ARE SUBMITTING ANTI “VAAD” COMMENTS: They will not be approved. We will not allow this forum to be used for your agendas.

If you are such “tough guys”, then stand up in BMG during first Seder and announce “Mi Lashem Elay” and rant away…..

Or, go protest outside the Vaad members’ homes.

NOT HERE. Please don not waste you time submitting the comments as they will be deleted instantly.

    YW Editor.

  17. I have been a Lakewood resident for app. 10 years. Coming from a large city, the total lack of competance by the Lakewood P.D. has been obvious since I moved here.

In the city that I come from the only place where you see a police car parked is by the police station. The police are constantly patrolling. In Lakewood the odds of finding a police car patrolling the neighborhoods are less then the odds of discovering oil in your kitchen sink.

The lakewood police prefer to idle in parking lots take naps and occasionaly pull someone over for a traffic violation. Even better, you canoftenfind to police cars parked side by side, probably discussing the Yankees game. With no police patrols there is no deterrent.

The difference between the incompetance of the Lakewood P.D. and that of other cities is obvious to anyone who has lived in another city.

There is no shortage of Police in Lakewood (judging by the amount of vehicles parked throughout the city). There also should be no shortage of tax revenue with additional houses being built every year.

Whith the dramatic increase in crime this should be the most important issue to the citizens of Lakewood. The representatives of the community should feel the same way, if they truly are representatives of the community.

There must be a change, and it should be made immediately.

  18. a yungerman was badly beaten, and “justanobody” is talking about parking spots on lexington ave.
    ad heichen hadvorim magiyim???

  19. Hey editor,
Why are you so afraid of bashing the vaad…….

Editors Response: Firstly, we are afraid of the mighty hand of G-D and noone else.

Secondly, We have no CLUE who is even on the Lakewood Vaad – NOR DO WE CARE. It makes no difference. We report NEWS. This is not a public Lashon Hara free-for-all.

    Get it?

If people have complaints with the Lakewood Vaad – let them stop hiding behind anonymous screen-names and go do whatever they feel like. If someone wants to write an article for Yeshivaworld about the Lakewood Vaad – and sign his name and contact info – we will consider publishing it. Until then, go place your hateful, lashon hara filled nastiness on the Asbury Park Press website.

  20. i wish the writer whose username is “justanobody” would believe it! Then he wouldn’t write such a long letter criticizing so much.

Suggestion: The usernames should be posted before the posting. Then when someone like “justanobody” writes a long letter, we can skip it!

  21. Dear Editor, thank you for the softly spoken kind words of reproach.
Like a warm grandfather who kindly strokes his beard, and with a twinkle in his eye, shows his ainiklach the true path of of ahava achva shalom vlhitra’ot.
Us readers/bloggers get carried away with our emotions, and you, you are always there to keep us in line, to make sure that boundries are firmly, but oh so gently placed. I get a warm fuzzy feeling of gratitude when I think about how much sinas chinam you keep us away from. So, in the name of all my fellow posters, please. oh please, keep up the good work!

  22. People here are really missing the point. What does the vaad Have to do with this. We are treated here by the police dept. like in stalinist Russia. Just last month on a motzei shabos Three drunken illegal aliens drove into the whispering pines neighborhood slammed into two cars which created a domino effect. The drunkards seeing that their car ( with pennsylvania license Plates) was totalled ran into the nearby wawa When the police came they declined to arrest them due to lack of evidence!(?)

  23. Did anyone ever call a Vaad member with a problem and find out the facts? From the people that i have spoken to, most lash out on the Vaad without even having all the facts. If those people would only hold back from saying any comments until all facts are gotten, it would be so much better. Now, people hear something, tell it to someone else, and before you know it, people are upset. Had someone just made a phone call before, you would have so much less Motzi Shem Rah and more Shalom.

Each invidual knows when he is saying over hearsay

  24. Um…..

If this is a news site only, why are rants against the Lakewood police acceptable? Is that news????

Or is there a personal bias here?

  25. THERE IS NO LASHON HARA AGINST THE LAKEWOOD POLICE DEPARTMENT!!!!!!!!

WE FEEL THAT THERE IS A LACK OF POLICE PROTECTION AND WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO STATE THAT. WE DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO CURSE OUT THE VAAD AS THAT IS LASHON HARA, AND MORE LIKELY MOTZEI SHEM RA!!!

  26. justaguy slamming the Lakewood Police dept. is part of Discussing the news. I think its pretty obvious that this is different than writing loshon hara.

  27. kudos to the yw editor.
i personally have issues with the vaad, but you are 100 percent right that it will start much sinas chinam and lashon hara.

i also am not prepared to publicly state my name – and neither are the other wimps out there trying to use your hard worked on website to push their agendas.

  28. Justanobody- really.

    Goodnight friends,
I would like to go to sleep only after asking mechila if I ofended you in any way, I really truly mean everything I have said for the best of the tzibur. I know opinions are strong both ways, and emotions run deep. Please, we certainly are one group of people, and therefore, again If I came out too strong with my feelings, I am sorry.

Most of all, our Tefilos should be said for Rabbi Moskowitz, he should have a refuah shelaima, and we should not hear of such stories any more. Strength to his family and friends, I’m sure we all can help them out during hi recovery.

  29. ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE THE CHUTZPA TO EVEN THINK OF STANDING UP FOR THE RESHAIM (LKWD POLICE) YOU NEED TO REALIZE THAT THEY HAVE MORE COPS PER PERSON HERE THAN IN ANY OTHER CITY AND THEY HAVE PLENTY OF TIME TO DIRECT TRAFFIC WHEN THERE IS SOME TOW TRUCK OR DUMP TRUCK DOING SOME WORK ON THE SHOULDER THAT THEY ARE NOT NEEDED FOR LET THEM DO WHAT WE THE TAXPAYERS (WE ARE ONE OF THE HIGHEST PAYING FOR HOMES IN THE COUNTRY) ARE PAYING THEM FOR TO WATCH US OUR HOMES SHULS SCHOOLS AND NOW RABEIIM LET THEM KNOW THAT WE CARE AND WE NEED EXPECT AND WANT TO SEE A CHANGE WETHER IT MEANS DOING SOMTHING DRASTIC LIKE SOME OF YOU MENTIONED OR BY WRITING CALLING OR STORMING THE POLICE STATION SOMTHINGS FINALLY GOT TO HAPPEN

  30. I did reach out to our askanim after rosh hashana. I emailed one askin and received a reply that he would call me shortly and understood the situation was serious. it took 1-2 days and he did call back and left a message but not to the number I requested. . I then saw this askan chol hamoed who briefly sugested I speak to another askin.
    GREAT
I live in the ridge and 7th area. a state trooper told me recently that we had 3 shootings. the trooper informed me that lakewood camden and trenton are under the “cease fire” plan to curb the gang and extreme violince that follows with them.
other recent incidents of women being attacked in our area. one was beaten.

first of all call the cops so they have a report of incidents. the more reported problems the more they will patrol your area -hopefully. every call is recorded.

we must call upon all landlords and remove the bad influcences as most of these homes are bloods gang related or illegal aliens.

I spoke to one landlord and explained to him the atmosphere and the threats the occupants of his home are doing including the 3 pit bulls behind his house and the $50k BMG parked damaged behind his house.. he claims he might sell. we are giving him a week to make his mind up before the rest of the heighboorhood calls him to voice there opinion. other legal manners will take place if the situation is not resolved. we will ask for a psak to post names and info to contact if the landlords don’t clear these homes out. ridge and 7th area has never been this bad . We ,our wives and kids can not be afraid of walking or even driving down the street without being verbaly or physicaly threatned.

crime in lakewood is out of control

its time to open your mouth in a respective yet firm way if you want to live in safe lakewood.

if you don’t , don’t expect any changes. go to the town meetings and voice your opinion

  31. Yes, we sure do have to do something
    “Ve’hoyoh Mechanecha Kodosh Velo
Yireh Becho Ervas Dovar Veshov Meacharecha”.
We have to remember that Ha-shems is sending us these messages & we can go to the poice or where ever but it doesn’t matter if it’s supposed to happen it will these are just messages. Of course we have to do our hishtadlous but at the end if Ha-shem wants it to happen it will.

  32. Hashem Yerachem.
Unfortunately, Anti-semitism is on the rise worldwide with people getting beaten up in US, UK, Russia, Australia and Swastikas getting painted on shuls in Israel!!!
Let us take this as a reminder that we are still in golus and we need to keep a low profile and not instigate trouble and Chillul Hashem.
We may not permit ourselves the luxury of getting too comfortabel in any country and sometimes Hashem needs to remind us that America is not a Jewish homeland.

To the person who complained about only reporting Tzorros: would you prefer not to know what is happening to yidden all over?
You can visit Onlysinchos if you want to only read about simchos!

Hashem should end this painful golus bekarov!

  33. Let’s all daven that all the relevant governmental and nongovernmental bodies take whatever action is required to eliminate crime. Has there ever been talk of starting a citizen’s patrol similar to the one which has had such remarkable results in Baltimore?

  34. I am not going to sit here and debate if the vaad is doing the right thing if the PD is etc. However I will post what I do know (from inside info – yes I know what I am talking about).

There is a gang presence in Lakewood by MULTIPLE gangs. This has been a problem for several years. Amongst them the notorious MS13 (which is predominantly a Latin gang). The different guys do not get along and there are shootings between them. Most of the Lakewood community does not know about this. Lately the State Police has been hanging around Lakewood for a while. There sole purpose was to crack down on the gangs (there is a state wide effort on this). They picked the towns that are being hit the most. Based on the nature of the crime that was committed it would be easy to assume that this was done by a “gang banger”. For what reason I am unsure (they have been known in the past to do such crimes as part of initiation in to the gang).

  35. 24, 29 – we are in galus. I too live in an area where we think we (at least the men) can walk alone at night. But think of the tochacha.
15 – dig up an Artcroll siddur, find Av HaRachamim, and see what Rav Hirsch has to say about nekama.

  36. Okay, IF the editor can keep an open mind long enough before deleting this comment, let’s use our MINDS for a minute…. This specific comment is neither for or against the Lakewood Vaad. It just questions the reactions I’ve seen here…

The Lakewood Vaad is a PUBLIC organization which makes PUBLIC recommendations and endorsements on whom to elect to public office. Discussing these endorsments – the endorsments alone, our happiness or unhappiness with our elected officials, and no personal issues of a single Va’ad member – is in NO WAY hearsay or lashon hora.

If people are unhappy with their officials – such as when crime is running rampant and Klal Yisroel is hurting – it is natural to question the judgement and the endorsments of the elected officials.

Again, such questioning is NEITHER LASHON HORA, MOTZI SHEM RA, nor HEARSAY. Those jumping wildly and screaming about hearsay and lashon hora are the ones not being rational or level-headed. I did not read a sinlge comement which said, “I know that so-and-so on the Vaad did this or that.” Nor did I read a single comment to this effect, which COULD constitute lashon hora or hearsay.

Questioning the judgement of public endorsments, (and leaving your comments to those questions and not bringing in any other issues to cloud the comments and bring hearsay into the equation) is in no way lashon hora, and those madly and irrationally screaming about this, perhaps have issues, personal biases, or agendas clouding their level-headedness. I doubt a sinlge rav would pasken that questioning a public endorsment is hearsay or lashon hora.

If this website does not wish to allow comments questioning the Vaad, or if they haven’t the courage to do so, that is their decision. But in all fairness, let’s admit that it has NOTHING to do with hearsay, lashon hora, or airing opinions as opposed to news.

This comment can be deleted too, let’s just be honest about our motives….

Editors Response: You wrote that you did not see any comment which constitutes Lashon Harah……..Know why? Because we did not approve close to 75, hate, vile, disgusting, nivul-peh, motzei-shem-ra, lashon hara filled comments. We run this site – and we are not interested in opening the forum to a debate which will DEFINETLY bring Lashon Hara.

You are right. The Vaad is public, and people have the right to question what they do. But read my next sentence C-L-E-A-R-L-Y: PEOPLE WHO ARE HIDING BEHIND A FICTICIUOS SCREEN-NAME, FEEL THAT THEY CAN MOUTH-OFF IN ANY WAY THEY FEEL.

Let them get off the Internet, use their REAL names, and start questioning the Vaad. Since EVERYONE hates them, it should be real easy to get a few thousand signatures on a petition. Call them to a public meeting and bombard them with questions. Make them answer your complaints.

    Understand? Good.
